For our Classic competitors we have released two new designs. Classic briefs with a 3” and a 2” side lateral design. Both briefs are fully lined on the front. They have large leg cut outs so you can show off your full quads and quad insertions and sharply cut on the back to show off your glute striations. Our pro briefs show off your physique in it’s best light.

The 35th Annual Arnold Sports Festival will be held March 2-5, 2023 in Columbus, OH USA. Many of the sports elite bodybuilders will be competing for a chance to win one of the sports biggest titles. Many eyes are on the 10 bodybuilders in the men’s open division.

KEEPING IT CLASSIC

It’s hard to improve on a classic, especially Classic Physique.

The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines classic as: serving as a standard of excellence, historical and memorable.

Classic Physique Tips:

V-Taper

Many of us strive for cannonball shoulders, sweeping lats, tapering to a small waist and flaring quads. Out of these 4 parts mentioned considering working on your lats first to create the V-taper.

Proportion and Symmetry

Lets be real for a second. Muscle size is important; however, classic physique isn’t all about size alone. In fact size isn’t a major factor at all for classic physique. All muscle groups should be in proportion to one another without any one particular standing out from the rest. There should be balance to the body as far as side to side and top to bottom.

Details

In both large and small muscle groups, every detail should be revealed. A sound workout and nutrition plan will help to carve these details out.

CARE AND WASH INSTRUCTIONS FOR YOUR TRUNKS

We get this questions often...how do I take care of my posing trunks. Here are care instructions on how to wash and care for your trunks to keep them in the best condition.

Most fabrics wash well by hand in a sink of cold water but extra care is required
Mystique fabrics are delicate and will begin to show signs of wear much faster than regular swim trunks
Use mild soap like ivory or detergent for delicate fabrics
Wash in shallow water and drain until the water runs clear
Hang to dry over a towel - do NOT tumble dry
Do not soak your trunks. Soaking promotes the dye to run
Mystique fabrics will turn silver if exposed to oil or harsh washing or scrubbing
Do not dry clean your trunks. The chemical they use are too harsh for the fabric

Don't forget once your trunks are clean and ready for another round to put them in your Iron Eagle trunk pouch to keep them safe.

POSING TRUNK FIT GUIDE

Half way into the competition season we would like to ask for a few minutes of your time to go over how to have our trunks shape your physique and show it off in it’s best light.

Step 1. Choose the correct trunk size, cut and colour for you.

Visit our website www.posingtrunks.com where we have a variety of colours and styles for you to chose from. Choosing your trunk colour is a personal choice and preference. We have a wide range or colours and designs to choose from, and are always adding more. Every year there seems to be new colour trends. Last year orange was one of the most popular.

Tip on colour choice: When you are deciding what competition to enter, take a quick look at the stage and see what colours the stage backdrop is. Wearing a colour different to the back drop ensures you’ll stand out on stage.

Our size guide is as follows:

Small 28” – 30” / 71cm – 76cm

Medium 30” – 32” / 76cm – 81cm

Large 32” – 34” / 81cm – 86.5cm

X-Large 34” – 36” / 86.5cm – 91cm

Step 2. Now it’s time to select your cut.

We have 2 different models available:

Iron Eagle Premier – The Premier Pro cut reveals the ultimate V taper, hits extra high up on your hips revealing those deep quad cuts. A super narrow cut back with a scrunch elastic to pronounce your glutes even more and reveal glute striations, pouch type front with centre seam and ultra thin side straps. Fully lined on the front. Recommended for advanced/pro competitors.

Iron Eagle Flex – The Flex cut has a more conservative cut for athletes who require a more conservative look with a bit more cover on front and back. The Flex cut is fully lined on the front, has a 3/4 cut back with scrunch elastic to pronounce your glutes. It has a centre seam on the front and sleek side straps for a comfortable fit. Recommended for novice and intermediate competitors.

So now you’ve chosen your size, colour & cut, it’s time to put them on correctly.

Step 3. “The centre seam.” The correct fit begins with the centre seam. Make sure the centre seam is centred between your legs and aligned properly and slide the trunks up.

Step 4. “Pull Those Lateral Straps Up.” Once the trunks are on, double check your centre seam then grab both side straps and pull them over your hip bone just under your oblique muscle. There is a groove called the pelvic groove and it fits the straps of the trunks perfectly. See the arrows on the pictures below (*if the side laterals will not stay over your hips then it is most likely there is excess trunk material on the back side. Correct by bringing the pouch higher up in the front.)

Step 5. “Seam & Fabric Check.” In the process of Step 4 you most likely felt the trunks have shifted on the backside, now align the fabric on the backside where you would like your trunks to sit and tuck the rest of the material in between your glutes so there is no material bunched on your outer glutes. The scrunch elastic will make sure that the excess material aligns correctly. Before making any adjustments, make sure the side laterals are positioned correctly. The trunks are not meant to cover your glutes entirely.

Additional Tips:
1. When choosing your size, please remember that posing trunks are designed to fit snug and almost tight on your body. There should be minimal loose or additional fabric on the front or back that bunches or hangs. (They should not be as lose as undergarments.)
2. Several professionals will size down on the sizing chart for a more snug fit which reveals maximum glutes striations.
3. The snug fit may be slightly uncomfortable and take some getting used to when wearing them properly. However, it will visually reduce the size of your waist and make all your hard work shine. You want to restrict as much movement in the pouch as possible so there is no attention taken away from your physique. Please bear in mind that excess pouch room will look very unflattering on stage.

There was something missing and we went out to find it. We found brand new, high quality fabrics we love, and we hope you do too!..We added a host of new vibrant colours, which we will keep doing over the next coming months. All round we are really exited about our velvet range now. We hope you like them!

Our first piece of exciting news for 2024 is to introduce our new face to represent our classic range. As many of you know, we unfortunately lost our extremely dear friend, super supporter of the brand and the flagbearer of our classic range since day dot, Neil Currey. May his soul rest in peace. We will miss Neil incredibly and we can never repay the debt of gratitude we owe him. Therefore it's with great joy to announce that Neil's dear friend and incredible bodybuilder Joe Ballinger will take over the Iron Eagle classic baton for 2024. As promised..now available, the entire range of 2'', 3'' & 4'' lateral classic trunks in a high quality, 4 way stretch, Italian Satin Lycra. The trunks are fully lined on the front with super soft, comfort plus lining and grab hold around your waist so they don't peak open on the front during your posing.

New US Import Rules – No More Duty-Free under $800

As of 29 August 2025, the US has suspended its “de minimis” exemption. This means all goods shipped to the US (of any value) are now subject to customs duties and import taxes, as well as the added reciprocal tariffs that are now in effect. The United Kingdom had the lowest tariffs imposed (10%), but still...it has changed matters significantly in terms of peripheral costs. The implementation was hasty and opague and it hasn't been made abundantly clear what that entails for you in real money, we're figuring it out, literally, by tripping over things. We have made a page with our findings and will keep updating it with the most economical, fastest, least cumbersome shipping methods available as well as possible pitfalls and/or expensive surprises.

What we found so far...Courier services (UPS/FedEx etc) are having a field day adding a host of 'fees', bar none. Some charge their fees while the parcel is in transit, some send a bill after delivery. We have no interference in that entire process or insight what the charges will be on forehand.

By the data collected from our customers we've heard a range between $30 & $60 in fees, taxes & duties by couriers. So far the most economical shipping method under the new rules is Royal Mail, which unfortunately also happens to be the slowest. Their shipping charges are all DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) which means that all duties will be pre paid at check-out in our store and no additional costs will incur on delivery.

For one pair of trunks their shipping charges are $12 for untracked mail, and $20 for their tracked service. The average transit time is 2 weeks. This is all we know so far, we hope this information is beneficial.

A quick update on shipping and taxes:

Since the recent tariff changes and the removal of the de minimis exemption in the United States, we’ve been working tirelessly to bring transparency and clarity to the tax charges now due on all your purchases.

When the new rules came into effect in late August, couriers began issuing opaque, highly inflated and unexpected after-the-fact bills — even we struggled to get clear answers.

After much searching, we’ve partnered with Teleship to simplify everything. With Teleship:

Another update on US shipping & taxes...the saga continued.

With the recent U.S. tariff changes and the removal of the de minimis exemption, we’ve become unintentional experts in import tax law—mostly because nothing seemed to make sense.

Last month, we were excited to announce our partnership with Teleship. Today, however, the landscape has shifted yet again. The math just wouldn’t math, and it was driving us mad. So, we kept digging.

We were seeing nearly a 30% price difference between Royal Mail and Teleship/couriers, and everyone was bending over backwards trying to square that circle. But it still didn’t add up… until we uncovered what was really happening.

The tax is two-fold. Here’s what we found:

Firstly, there’s the 10% tariff applied under the Trump administration’s rules for UK imports.

On top of that, there’s a 27.6% MFN tariff (Most Favored Nation), a WTO “equalizing” tax that feels like it was invented on a Tuesday afternoon…

And the wild part?

👉 Royal Mail simply doesn’t charge the 27.6% MFN tariff.

We know — it’s baffling. But we’ve verified it multiple times.

So, a nearly 30% savings on government-imposed taxes feels like a pretty compelling reason to favor Royal Mail for our US shipping moving forward.

We’ll still offer express shipping options (48/72 hours) for those who prefer speed over savings — just please be aware that the total cost for express shipping will be significantly higher due to these tariffs.

We are currently exploring the option of shipping with UPS using the Duties Paid upfront (DDP) method so we can extend our discounts to you. For some reason, when we pay the duties in advance, UPS waives their usual $20 admin fee — so this could be a valuable improvement for everyone.

We’ve just begun looking into this and expect another treasure hunt ahead, but we’ll keep you updated as we make progress!

Make sure you take care of your trunks properly…..

Washing instructions:
* Most fabrics wash well by hand in a sink of cold water but extra care is required.
* Mystique fabrics are delicate and will begin to show signs of wear much faster than regular swimming trunks.
* Use mild soap like ivory or detergent for delicate fabrics
* Wash in shallow water and drain until water runs clear.
* Hang to dry over a towel - do NOT tumble dry.
* Do not soak your trunks. Soaking promotes the dye to run.
* Mystique fabrics will turn silver if exposed to oil or harsh washing or scrubbing.
* Do not dry clean your trunks. The chemicals they use are too harsh for the fabric.

Sometimes the best stories start with a phone call you weren't expecting. Shiraz Mirza had no plans to compete this year — until our Louise rang to ask if he'd be interested in showcasing our shorts on stage. Two days later, he was up there. No prep, no countdown, just straight into competition.

What happened next is the stuff of comeback legend. He won the BPA show. Then took the title at NABBA Midlands, wearing Blue Voltage. That result qualified him for the NABBA British, where he stepped out in Morpheus and won that too. Off the back of that, he qualified for the NABBA Worlds — and in Sahara, he closed out as World Champion, earning his pro card in the process.

And he's not done yet. Shiraz heads to the NABBA Universe in November to keep the streak alive. Four shows, all wins, one pro card — and counting.

He didn't just showcase our shorts — he proved exactly what they're built for!

Important Update: Changes to Import Duties for US & EU Orders

We want to keep you informed about recent changes to international import duties that affect orders shipped to the United States and European Union.

United States — From 24 July 2026, the flat-rate 10% postal duty that previously applied to parcels sent via Royal Mail and other postal carriers has been removed by the US government. All parcels entering the United States are now subject to the full duty stack based on product classification and country of origin. For our products, this means a combined rate of 24.9% — made up of the standard US tariff rate of 14.9% plus a 10% country-specific tariff (UK). These duties are collected at checkout so you won't face any unexpected charges on delivery.

European Union — From 1 July 2026, all parcels entering the European Union are shipped on a Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) basis. As part of the EU's removal of the €150 customs duty exemption, a flat-rate customs duty of €3 per product category now applies to all imports from outside the EU, regardless of order value. This is collected at checkout alongside your local VAT.

We know these changes add to the cost of ordering from us, and we're sorry that this is out of our hands — these charges are set by governments and are entirely outside our control. The good news is that everything is collected upfront at checkout, so there are no surprises at your door.
